This variation relies heavily on the Reverse Crossunder, which is where two balls thrown up together as columns are caught with the arms crossed.

Start juggling a standard Columns pattern, one up in the middle & two up on the outside.

Count out the pattern, say 1 when you throw a single ball & 2 when you throw a pair, "1, 2, 1, 2, 1..." As you juggle, put in the odd reverse crossunder & say, "1, 2, 1, Cross, 1, 2..." Work up to crossing your arms to catch every pair, always remembering to cross the arms left over right & right over left alternately.

Keep juggling the columns pattern with continuous reverse crossunders. Watch your hands as you juggle & watch the one that crosses over the other. Now catch & throw the centre ball in between crossing & recrossing your arms with the hand that was just on top. Obviously the centre ball is now thrown & caught with alternate hands.

Continue juggling the columns pattern, with continuous reverse crossunders & alternating which hand catches the centre ball. Then as you catch the centre ball, swing your hand down & throw it Under the arm so that it rises straight up on the outside of the pattern. Leave the throwing hand where it is as your arms are already crossed ready to catch the two balls. Catch one in each hand as usual, uncross your arms & throw the pair straight up so that the single ball remains on the outside of the pattern. Catch the single ball with the hand that was on top, swing your arm down & throw it up under the other arm. Leave your arms crossed & you are back where you started again.

As with all the Mills Simultaneous patterns work on reducing the height of the columns pattern down to cascade height.
